Support for Specialized Accreditation

SPECIALIZED/PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITING AGENCIES
 
Assist accrediting agencies in developing standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality review of academic programs and institutions. Facilitate change and improvement in accreditation processes through the development of agency evaluation processes (e.g., consistency in accreditation decisions, application of professional judgment) and in training for board members, site visitors, and program officials.

 

Provide professional support and faciliation in the following areas:

 

  • Development and revision of accreditation standards and guidelines

  • Implement agency evaluation to ensure consistency in decision making and appropriate application of professional judgment

  • Editing and improvement of agency manuals, policies and training materials for accredited programs, site visitors and board members

  • Facilitate board meetings for process development and improvement

  • Collaborate in agency training activities

  • Conduct surveys and focus groups

  • Analyze agency data and develop concrete recommendations for action

 

SELF-STUDY PREPARATION AND REPORT WRITING FOR PROGRAMS

 

Assist prospective and accredited programs in:

 

  • Developing candidacy and self-study documents; assist in crafting monitoring and annual reports

  • Identify key evidence to support compliance with accrediting standards

  • Analyze program and institutional policy to meet accreditation requirements
